I don't know if it's a bug or something intentional, but I think that being "platinum" the representation of a real currency (since you have to buy it) it would be good if it were shared between the characters of an account and not be linked to a specific character.

(to test I have created two characters, the first account has 10plat, the second appears with 50plat (after a small recharge))
