Selling useless items to NPCs?

Can you sell useless items to NPCs? If yes how? I can't for the life of me find any button/way to do this.

You must find right line when you speak to (shop)NPC. It should be first or second.

I always go to Voberg in Tentris. He is the smithy next to the townhall.
